You may notice this image around campus on the Oregon Daily Emerald boxes over the next few months. The main message is that tuition and state support only cover a portion of an actual UO education and that the difference is made up by private and outside sources including alumni, parents, faculty, staff, friends and corporations. Many students tend to believe that tuition and state support cover the entire cost of a UO education, and this just isn't the case. As one of these educational posters states, it costs over $1.3 million to run the university for ONE day. Private support covers 140 school-year days! | ![]()
Students need to have access to information like this. The university is more than classrooms and buildings, it is a community of people who believe in the benefit of education and that everyone, regardless of their situation in life, deserves access to a world-class university.
Students - you are part of this community and we just thought you'd like to know there are thousands of us behind you!
