This weekend I surprised my parents by coming home and visiting them. (I think the bigger surprise however was me coming home without any laundry!) Whenever I get the chance to come back for the weekend it is always a relaxing experience.
This past weekend was my sorority's Dad's Weekend. For whatever reason my father decided not to come so I thought since so many of my friends with their Dad's, I should be too. Whenever I come home I can feel stress melt away. Even though I live in Eugene the majority of the year, it's nice to sleep in my own bed. Loud music never wakes me up, all my meals are made and more importantly they are healthy ones!
One of my favorite parts about being home is seeing my dogs. That has to be one of the hardest parts of college-the lack of animal contact. My dog recognized my car and ran quickly to my front door to greet me and did not leave my side for hours. My parents were not so excited, but still enthusiastic.
A weekend at home is always too short but winter break is too long. The perfect amount of time home is five days. You are still considered a guest, you can see most of the people you want to and you feel refreshed. Although my trip home was just for the weekend it was a breath of fresh air helping me get through the next two weeks until break.
